The Master of Health Policy is a one-year full-time course that can also be studied part-time over several years. The program is also open to recent graduates who want to pursue a career in health policy. Students attend day workshops and participate in online discussions, making the course suitable for people living outside the Sydney metropolitan area. All new local enrolments in the Master of Health Policy in 2010 will also be able to apply for financial support in the form of a Commonwealth Assisted Place or the Baxter Scholarship for Excellence in Health Policy. Applications for enrolment and support must be received by 31 January 2010.
Further course information is available at: http://www.health.usyd.edu.au/future/coursework/healthpolicy/masters.php
A Commonwealth Assisted Place covers half the fees in the masters program. This will be offered to the applicant with the highest academic results. There is no need for an application for this award as all degree applicants are automatically considered, but your application for entry to the degree program must be received by 31 January 2010.
The Baxter Scholarship for Excellence in Health Policy was established in 2006 by a donation from Baxter Healthcare to encourage excellence in the field of health policy and covers half the fees in the masters program. Applicants are required to submit an application form with full academic records attached, and an essay of no more than 500 words discussing the aspects of health policy that most interest the applicant, referring to at least one current health policy dilemma. Applications for this scholarship must be received by 31 January 2010 and should be addressed to Dr James Gillespie, Sydney School of Public Health, A27 Edward Ford Building, University of Sydney, NSW, 2006.
