Chambers Rosewood Vineyards
TASA’04 Conference is proud to announce Chambers Rosewood Vineyards as an important sponsor.
Bill Chambers is the doyen of Rutherglen Winemakers and is highly regarded throughout the country after serving for more than 20 years as Chairman of Judges at the Melbourne Show. Now semi-retired, Bill acts as a consultant and was honoured with an OAM for his services to the Australian wine industry and to wine judging.
The Chambers range of fortified wines has attracted high praise internationally, particularly from well-known US wine writer and critic Robert Parker Jr of The Wine Advocate magazine. He refers to Bill Chambers as ‘ Australia ’s king of fortified wine’ and has again and again awarded perfect scores to Chambers Rare Muscat and Rare Tokay. Parker’s list of the top 100 wines in the world includes Chambers’ wines. Even the youngest, bottom of the range Chambers Muscat, formerly known as Liqueur Muscat, received a score from Parker of 95 out of 100. Parker recently wrote:
“Anyone who has ever tasted his fortified Tokay or Muscat realizes the world’s reference point for these wines begins and ends with Chambers . In summary, life is too short not to try one of the Muscats or Tokays from Chambers Rosewood.... a true Australian treasure.”
Established in 1858, Chambers Rosewood Vineyards is an example of the many small family-owned wineries of north eastern Victoria . Bill is the fifth generation of his family to make wine at Rosewood, with his son, Stephen, currently undertaking his fourth vintage as winemaker.
Chambers Rosewood Winery is sponsoring the TASA in a number of ways. Bill Chambers will hold a wine tasting on Thursday 9 December at the conference and will also speak briefly, introducing delegates to the wines of the north east in general and to his own wines in particular. Wine for the conference, including wine for the conference dinner, will feature Chambers wine. Wine will be available to delegates available by the bottle at special sponsors’ rates. In addition, a special ‘TASA’04 Conference Commemorative Dozen’, appropriately labelled , will be available for purchase. The TASA’04 Conference Dozen will feature a range of reds and whites as well as the fortifieds for which Chambers Rosewood Winery is famous. Delegates will also receive a special commemorative TASA’04 Chambers wine glass in their registration bag at registration.
