TASAweb was established by John Germov and first published on the 22 July 1996. It resided on the University of Newcastle server until December 2001, when it moved to its own domain: www.tasa.org.au. The members’-only section was launched in February 2002 and in January 2003, the TASA Directory Online and Update My Profile features were launched.
Our secure membership application form processes your credit card details using 128-bit encryption - a highly sophisticated technology which scrambles your credit card number so that it can’t be deciphered by a potential “hacker”.
TASA membership is on a calendar year basis from 1 January to 31 December. Membership forms submitted late in the year receive back copies of publications. In other words, memberships do not begin from the date of processing, but rather are backdated to the beginning of the year. To check your membership status, login to the members’ section and access the Update My Profile feature.
Copies of the journal are back-ordered monthly for those members who join after 30th March each year. If you are a member and have not received copies of the Journal of Sociology, please contact the TASA Office.
TASA has produced guidelines for ethical practice and decision-making with respect to research, teaching, publishing and conduct as practitioners of the discipline. To view the guidelines click here.
