On the 20th February 2003, Emeritus Professor John Western launched a request
for contributions towards the publication of a protest letter to the Prime Minister
regarding Australian Involvement in Iraq. Although initiated in an academic
context, a broad range of people have funded the letter. Signatories also include
farmers, teachers, social workers, builders, parents, writers, small business
operators, artists, lawyers and medical practitioners.
The Prime Minister’s Letter
[ Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF - 42 KB ] is a protest against the current Iraq situation
and is supported by both those who believe that UN sanctions are essential for
any military involvement and those who reject the idea of any military involvement
at all.
