10.30 am - 12 pm

Location
669-673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra
Address
Lionel Bowen Library, Maroubra

Join Dr. Andrew Jakubowicz in conversation with Craig Foster AM to discuss his newly released book 'Multicultural Arc: Making Multicultural Australia: Past, Present and Future'. 'Multicultural Arc' describes and analyses a half-century of multicultural action and policy in Australia.

Fifty years ago, in 1973, then Immigration Minister Al Grassby launched the idea and values of Multicultural Australia. He covered the past, the present challenges and the future goals for this vision over the next generation. Today, two generations on, we ask how we got to where we are today, what are our most pressing challenges, and what strategies are needed to carry the multicultural project forward another generation.

Andrew will be joined by Craig Foster AM, 2023 NSW Australian of the Year, human rights and anti-racism activist and former Socceroo. Attendees will be invited to participate in a Q&A session towards the end of the talk.

This is a free event in collaboration with Sydney Multicultural Community Services. Bookings are essential online.
