Work, Employment and Social Movements

Aims and objectives:

The aims of the Work, Employment and Social Movements Thematic Group (previously called Work and Labour Studies until 12/13) are to:

  • Facilitate informed debate about matters relating to work, employment and social movements in Australia and elsewhere.
  • Sponsor the development of scholarly literature about work, employment and social movements in Australia and elsewhere
  • Provide an avenue for TASA members and other researchers’ interested in work, employment and social movements to engage in relevant debate and research activities.
  • Facilitate a work, employment and social movements stream at TASA conferences.
  • Engage with other relevant networks such as Research Committees 44 and 30 within the International Sociological Association.
